THE OSTEOPATHS

Michael Oldfield BSc (Hons) Ost. GOsC Registered

Michael became involved in Osteopathy 10 years ago after suffering from a work related strain in his neck and shoulder muscles. It was through this experience that he began to appreciate the benefits Osteopathy can offer to a persons physical health and well being. Michael then decided to become an Osteopath and qualified, with Honours from the London School of Osteopathy in 2006.

Michael’s training consisted of a five-year science degree course and involved developing an integrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology, psychosocial studies, clinical studies, and biomechanics.

Since establishing Deeping Osteopaths in November 2006 Michael has also worked as an associate in numerous clinics around Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire picking up a wealth of experience in effectively treating a variety of musculo-skeletal conditions (please see what Osteopathy can treat for more info).

Michael enjoys the holistic approach Osteopathy can offer by focusing on the individual and their lifestyle, his treatment approach reflects this.

“To me Osteopathy treats the person as an individual and the body as a unit, through assessment, evaluation, treatment, prevention and advice. I enjoy working with patients giving care and support whilst going through the treatment process. Overall Osteopaths seek to establish the cause of the problem and not just treat the symptoms”

Michael lives locally in Deeping St. James with his wife and two young daughters, yet is originally from Liverpool and naturally supports the Reds. He enjoys relaxing with his family and is a fair-weather cyclist and runner.
